내용요약

인류의 과학이 태양계 저편으로 우주선을 보낼 만큼 발달하고, 바이오와 디지털 분 야에서도 엄청난 발전을 이룩했지만 감염병 앞에서 인류가 취할 수 있는 당장의 대책 은 흑사병이 창궐하던 중세나 별 차이가 없다. 대부분의 나라가 하고 있는 것은 국경 을 폐쇄하고, 국민을 집 밖으로 나가지 못하게 함으로써 대인 간 접촉을 줄이는 것, 개 인들이 마스크를 끼거나 손을 씻음으로써 바이러스가 몸 안으로 들어오지 못하게 하 는 것 등 원시적인 대응책 이외에는 별게 없다. 2020년 5월 현재 상황으로 볼 때 코로 나19의 위기는 치료제나 예방약이 만들어지기 전까지 계속 이어질 것으로 예상된다.
